AI Access captures the practical ability to access and use frontier AI tools from a jurisdiction, for work and daily life, normalised to a 1 to 10 score per country. It blends effective access to Western frontier services (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini), the strength of the domestic AI ecosystem, government and macro AI readiness, in-country cloud regions, and the internet restriction environment. AI Access feeds our composite Lucky Nomads World Index alongside the other dimensions. Inputs include official provider supported-country lists, the Oxford Insights Government AI Readiness Index, the IMF AI Preparedness Index, the count of in-country hyperscaler cloud regions, and a documented internet restriction malus. Scores are normalised to 1 to 10. The map shows the latest published AI Access score with consistent colour bands across the site.
