Frequently Asked Questions
This page collects all questions and answers about GeoCompass - how the engine works, what the report includes, who it is for, and how we handle data, support, and payments.
1. About the product
▾
Q1Who is GeoCompass designed for?
GeoCompass is designed for anyone who has a degree of geographic flexibility and wants to approach the question of where to live - or where to base their life or activity - with structure and analytical rigour rather than intuition or generic advice.
In practice, the typical profiles who use GeoCompass include:
- Remote workers and freelancers who can work from anywhere and want to know which jurisdictions offer the best combination of lifestyle, cost, and administrative simplicity for their situation
- Entrepreneurs and business owners operating internationally, for whom the choice of jurisdiction carries real fiscal and operational consequences
- Digital nomads looking to move beyond improvised mobility and build a more deliberate geographic strategy
- Investors and high-net-worth individuals considering international relocation for tax efficiency, asset protection, or lifestyle reasons
- Employees with international flexibility - remote contracts, posted positions, or employers open to negotiation - who want a data-backed basis for their location decisions
- Couples or families evaluating a first international relocation and wanting to compare options systematically before committing
- People in transition - changing careers, winding down a business, leaving a country - who want to understand what their options look like before their next chapter begins
If your work and lifestyle allow you to choose where you live - or if you are working toward that freedom - GeoCompass is built for you.
Q2What is GeoCompass exactly?
GeoCompass is a Geographic Strategy Decision Engine: it helps you stop guessing where to live and start optimizing your location with structured data. It analyzes your personal profile across 50+ variables, evaluates 232 global jurisdictions across multiple weighted dimensions, runs more than 4,400 calculations on tens of thousands of structured data points (37,280), and uses a ranking system that resolves more than 27,000 possible country-to-country comparisons (27,028). It produces a personalized Strategic Location Decision Report - a ranked shortlist of the jurisdictions that best match your situation, with full scoring breakdown and trade-off analysis.
Q3Is this an AI? Do you use AI?
GeoCompass is not an AI chatbot. It is a rule-based multi-factor scoring engine - a structured algorithm that evaluates jurisdictions against your profile using predefined logic, curated jurisdiction data, and dynamic weighting. The scoring process is deterministic, not generative.
The engine draws on a comprehensive proprietary dataset spanning 232 jurisdictions and tens of thousands of structured data points per full report (37,280). Every output is the product of a layered architecture of formulas and weighted calculations - designed to produce results that are precise, consistent, and fully calibrated to your specific profile.
Q4How is GeoCompass different from free tools like Nomad List, ChatGPT, or relocation blogs?
Free tools serve a different purpose. Nomad List ranks cities by general liveability - it does not score jurisdictions against your tax situation, visa constraints, income structure, or risk tolerance. Relocation blogs offer curated opinions, not structured analysis. ChatGPT generates plausible-sounding answers calibrated to the average reader, not to your specific profile.
GeoCompass is a deterministic scoring engine: it runs your inputs (income model, spending level, priorities, deal-breakers) through a structured algorithm covering 232 jurisdictions and multiple composite dimensions. The output is not a list of popular destinations. It is a ranked framework built specifically for your situation, with every eliminated jurisdiction logged and every trade-off made explicit.
The distinction is not between free and paid. It is between generic and personalised, between opinion and structured analysis, between a starting point and a decision framework.
Q5What scoring dimensions does the engine use?
Every jurisdiction is evaluated across composite dimensions, including:
- Visa fit score (profile-adjusted)
- Entry ease
- Admin ease
- Time zone fit score (profile-adjusted)
- Healthcare score
- WiFi score
- Tax freedom score
- SafetyShield score
- City Comfort score
- Banking score
- WeatherComfort score
- Affordability index
- Financial viability score (profile-adjusted)
Each of these dimensions is itself a composite index - built from multiple underlying data points rather than a single variable. Tax freedom score, for instance, aggregates income tax rates, capital gains treatment, wealth taxes, and other fiscal indicators. SafetyShield score draws on crime indices, stability metrics, and related signals. This layered architecture is what gives the engine its depth.
Each composite dimension is then scored and weighted according to your stated priorities - meaning the same jurisdiction can rank very differently depending on your profile. The final composite score reflects your specific weighting, not a universal ranking.
Q6What questions does the diagnostic answer?
GeoCompass is designed to answer one central question: given your financial profile, operational constraints, and strategic priorities - which jurisdictions in the world are actually rational for your situation?
More specifically, your report will answer:
- Which countries clear your hard constraints (visa, safety, internet, etc.)?
- How do eligible jurisdictions rank across your scoring dimensions?
- What are the key trade-offs between your top options?
- What makes your top-ranked jurisdiction dominant for your profile?
Q7Is GeoCompass only for high-income individuals?
No. The engine is calibrated for a wide range of financial profiles - from remote workers and freelancers to entrepreneurs, investors, and corporate professionals. There is no income floor to use GeoCompass.
That said, the diagnostic is most valuable when you have real variables at stake - whether financial (tax freedom, affordability, financial viability), operational (admin ease, banking access, WiFi score), or lifestyle-related (SafetyShield score, WeatherComfort score, healthcare score, City Comfort score). The engine scores jurisdictions across all of these dimensions, so the more concretely you can define your priorities and constraints, the more actionable your results will be.
The key requirement is not a specific income level, but a genuine interest in understanding where your profile fits best in the world - and a willingness to engage with structured analysis rather than surface-level recommendations.
Q8Is this service only for people who are already nomadic or traveling?
No. GeoCompass is for anyone who wants a structured answer to the question "where in the world would I be best positioned, given my profile?" - whether you are already nomadic, semi-nomadic, planning a first relocation, or simply curious about your options.
The engine is calibrated for globally mobile professionals with a financial or operational dimension to their decision, but the diagnostic is useful at any stage - whether your move is imminent, planned for the future, or purely exploratory.
Q9I have no relocation project - I'm just curious about my optimal country. Is GeoCompass relevant for me?
Yes. Curiosity is a valid reason to run a diagnostic. Many users who complete GeoCompass have no immediate relocation plan - they simply want to understand what their options look like, structured analytically. The report gives you a clear, data-driven answer to a question most people never formalize.
That said, the engine is calibrated for profiles with real financial and operational variables - income, spending, tax sensitivity, visa needs. The more concrete your inputs, the more precise and actionable your report will be.
Q10My situation is about to change significantly in the coming weeks or months. Can I still use GeoCompass?
Yes - and in many cases, this is exactly the right moment to run a diagnostic. Rather than entering your current situation, simply use the profile you expect to have once your transition is complete: your projected income, anticipated spending level, updated priorities.
The engine scores jurisdictions against the inputs you provide - not against your past. If you know where you are headed, GeoCompass can tell you which jurisdictions will be most rational for that future version of your profile.
Q11I am a salaried expatriate - is GeoCompass relevant for me?
It depends on the degree of flexibility you have over your location.
If your employer assigns you to a specific country with no input from your side, GeoCompass is not the right tool for that decision - you do not control the variable the engine is designed to optimise.
However, if you have any degree of flexibility - whether you work remotely for a foreign employer, split your time across locations, or are in a position to influence where your next posting is - then a diagnostic can be highly relevant.
There is also a less obvious use case worth considering: running a GeoCompass diagnostic and presenting the results to your employer as a structured, data-backed proposal for an alternative or preferred posting location. Rather than making a vague request, you arrive with a scored, documented framework showing why jurisdiction X makes sense for your profile - and potentially for the company's operational setup as well. Whether that argument lands depends on your employer, but the report gives you a rigorous basis to make the case.
Q12Does my report take into account my nationality or passport?
Not yet - at least not in a passport-specific way. The current version of GeoCompass evaluates visa accessibility using a generic baseline: the typical maximum tourist stay granted to low-risk OECD nationalities under a standard tourist visa regime. This reference broadly applies to passport holders from the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Canada, Australia, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, Spain, Italy, and other comparable OECD member states.
If your passport falls within this profile, the engine's visa scoring is a reasonable approximation of your real-world access. If your nationality sits outside this group, the visa dimension of your report may not accurately reflect your actual entry conditions - and this should be factored into how you interpret your results.
Nationality-specific visa scoring is planned for a future version of the engine. In the meantime, we recommend conducting parallel research using official sources (government immigration portals, embassy websites), cross-referencing multiple sources, and where relevant, contacting the embassies or consulates of jurisdictions you are seriously considering.
Q13Which jurisdictions are included in the engine? Are all countries covered?
GeoCompass currently scores 232 jurisdictions worldwide - a near-exhaustive set of sovereign states, territories, and special jurisdictions where we can run the same structural dimensions with reliable data. The emphasis is on a global comparison canvas, not a hand-picked shortlist, so you see how your profile ranks across almost every serious option on the map.
Each active jurisdiction clears the same quality bar for the engine - enough depth on tax context, safety, cost of living, mobility signals, and the other composite dimensions - so scores stay comparable across the full set.
We still refine and extend the dataset over time as sources improve or new locations become meaningfully comparable.
Q14How many countries typically remain after filtering?
This varies significantly from one profile to the next, and it is genuinely difficult to give a single number in advance - the eligible pool depends on how demanding your constraints are and across which dimensions.
A profile with relaxed requirements across most dimensions may see 40 or more jurisdictions enter the scoring phase. A highly constrained profile - strict safety requirements, specific regional preferences, high income stability thresholds - may see a much smaller pool. That said, even for demanding profiles, the engine typically surfaces at least ten jurisdictions that clear the hard constraints and proceed to full scoring and ranking.
No two profiles produce the exact same eligible set. This variability is not a limitation - it is precisely what makes the output personalised rather than generic.
Q15Is it possible that the diagnostic generates no results?
No. The engine always produces a ranked output. In rare cases where very strict deal-breaker criteria eliminate a large number of jurisdictions, the report will identify which constraints are responsible and suggest which criteria could be relaxed to expand the eligible set.
Q16Where does the data come from?
Each scoring dimension in GeoCompass is built as a composite index - meaning it aggregates multiple data sources into a single normalised variable rather than relying on any single figure. The underlying data draws from a range of international and public sources, including: the World Bank, the OECD, the UNODC, cost-of-living databases, publicly available fiscal and regulatory information, and structured internal models built and maintained by Lucky Nomads, among others.
All variables are normalised into comparable indices before entering the scoring model, ensuring that jurisdictions can be ranked consistently regardless of how their raw data is originally structured or expressed.
Q17How frequently is the data updated?
The GeoCompass dataset is maintained on a rolling basis. Most data points are reviewed and updated every few weeks to a few months, depending on the nature of the variable - tax structures, cost-of-living indices, administrative complexity ratings, and banking conditions each evolve at different speeds.
Some data is inherently more time-sensitive than others. SafetyShield score inputs, in particular, can shift rapidly - geopolitical developments, armed conflicts, or sudden security deterioration in a jurisdiction are monitored closely. When a significant and sudden change occurs in one of these areas, we prioritise updating the relevant data as promptly as possible so that the engine reflects current conditions.
No dataset is ever perfectly current, but our objective is to ensure that the information underpinning your report is as accurate and recent as reasonably possible at the time of delivery.
Q18How does the deal-breaker system work?
Before any scoring takes place, the engine applies a set of hard constraints - deal-breakers - that can eliminate jurisdictions from your eligible pool entirely. These represent structural impossibilities: situations where a jurisdiction cannot, by definition, satisfy a fundamental requirement of your profile. A country that legally cannot accommodate your minimum stay requirement, or one that creates a structural financial deficit given your income and expenses, will be excluded before the scoring model even runs.
Other constraints - such as geographic preference, safety thresholds, administrative complexity tolerance, or timezone range - are not treated as binary exclusions. Instead, they function as score penalties: the more a jurisdiction deviates from your stated requirements in these areas, the lower its composite score. This means jurisdictions are rarely simply 'out' - they are ranked lower, and the report explains why.
This two-tier architecture is a deliberate design choice. Hard exclusions are reserved for genuine impossibilities. Everything else is expressed as a scored tension - visible, documented, and transparent in your report. The deal-breaker log included in your report lists every jurisdiction that was eliminated and the reason for its exclusion.
Q19Is the report generic or truly personalized?
Every report is generated from your individual profile. Your answers directly determine how the engine evaluates each of the 232 jurisdictions - adjusting scores, applying your declared constraints, filtering deal-breakers, and weighting dimensions according to your stated priorities.
The probability of two profiles producing identical rankings is vanishingly small. A freelancer prioritising high tax freedom and healthcare score will see a very different Top 3 than an entrepreneur focused on banking access and administrative simplicity. The engine does not produce a universal ranking - it produces your ranking.
This is not a static country guide. It is a profile-driven analytical model, calibrated to your specific situation.
Q20Does GeoCompass recommend a single country?
No. GeoCompass does not issue a single mandatory recommendation. It produces a ranked strategic shortlist - a structured framework that shows you which jurisdictions are most compatible with your profile, how they compare across key scoring dimensions, and where the meaningful trade-offs lie.
The distinction matters. A recommendation tells you what to do. A decision framework gives you the analytical foundation to decide for yourself - with full visibility into the reasoning, the scoring, and the constraints that shaped the output.
The final decision is always yours. GeoCompass is designed to make that decision better-informed, not to make it for you.
Q21Is GeoCompass replacing a lawyer or a tax advisor?
No. GeoCompass is a strategic decision framework - not professional legal, tax, or financial advice. It helps you identify and compare your options. It does not advise on implementation, compliance, or legal structuring in any specific jurisdiction.
For legal, tax, or compliance matters related to your specific situation, consult qualified professionals in the relevant jurisdictions.
Q22Are you truly independent in your analysis and recommendations?
Yes. Lucky Nomads has no financial relationship with any jurisdiction, government, or relocation service provider. No country pays to be included in or ranked higher in our engine. No affiliate arrangement influences our scoring.
Scores are generated algorithmically based on curated jurisdiction data and your profile - not editorial opinion, not commercial partnerships.
At its core, our mission is to make the world more legible. We take no side. Like every person who has ever asked where they would thrive, we believe in the pursuit of a better life - and we built GeoCompass to help answer that question with rigor and honesty. The engine considers what each jurisdiction objectively offers, and maps it against what each client actually needs: their income structure, their priorities, their constraints, their way of living. The result is not a recommendation shaped by bias - it is a mirror of your own situation, held up against the world.
2. About the process
▾
Q23How quickly do I get access to the questionnaire after purchase?
Access is immediate. As soon as your payment is confirmed through Stripe, you receive an email containing your unique questionnaire link. There is no manual processing or waiting period - the link is generated and sent automatically.
If you do not receive the email within a few minutes of purchase, check your spam or junk folder first. If it is still missing, reach out at contact@luckynomads.io and we will resend it promptly.
Q24How does the diagnostic work, step by step?
Step 1 - Purchase the diagnostic. You receive immediate access to your personal questionnaire link by email.
Step 2 - Complete the questionnaire. Most people need about 15 minutes of active time, but you can spread it over several visits. Your answers auto-save about every 30 seconds and whenever you change step. Reopen the same personal link from your email anytime to pick up where you left off.
Step 3 - The GeoCompass engine processes your profile: 232 jurisdictions scored across 13 dimensions, 8 constraint dimensions applied.
Step 4 - Your Strategic Location Decision Report is generated and delivered to you by email.
Step 5 - Your Personal Cockpit activates. Your report becomes a living document: update your profile anytime while access is active — the engine re-runs automatically. Included for 12 months with your purchase.
Q25Can I preview the questionnaire before purchasing?
The questionnaire is not publicly accessible before purchase. However, you can review a full breakdown of what it covers in the FAQ - see: What types of questions will you ask?
The questionnaire takes approximately 15 minutes of active time for most people and does not require any preparation beyond having a general sense of your financial situation, priorities, and geographic preferences. There are no technical or accounting-level inputs required. You do not need to finish it in one sitting - progress is saved automatically and your personal link restores your answers when you return.
Q26What types of questions will you ask?
The questionnaire covers six domains:
- Financial profile: income level, stability, cash reserves, currency, spending model
- Psychographic profile: risk tolerance, administrative tolerance, stability vs. flexibility preference
- Operational constraints: minimum safety, minimum internet speed, minimum visa days, maximum administrative complexity
- Geographic preferences: target regions, excluded regions, target timezone, mobility model
- Fiscal situation: current tax residency, importance of tax optimization
- Strategic horizon: time frame, reversibility requirements, priority ranking of dimensions
Q27How long does the questionnaire take?
Approximately 15 minutes of active time for most users. The actual time depends on the level of reflection you invest in each answer - some questions about your financial situation, risk tolerance, or strategic priorities may require a few moments of thought.
You can complete it in one session or across several. The form auto-saves about every 30 seconds and whenever you move between steps. Close the tab or come back another day with the same link from your purchase email - your answers and current step load again automatically.
Whenever you work on it, a focused environment still helps so your answers stay precise. The quality of your report depends directly on the accuracy of what you submit.
Q28Can I pause the questionnaire and finish it later?
Yes. There is no need to complete everything in one go. Your responses are saved automatically about every 30 seconds and each time you go to the next or previous step.
Use the unique questionnaire link from your purchase email each time you return. Your draft and the step you were on are restored when you open that link, until you submit the questionnaire or the 180-day access window from purchase ends (see the question on changing circumstances below).
Q29I need help filling out the questionnaire. Can you assist?
Yes. If you would like guidance completing the questionnaire, you can book a Form Assistance Session after purchase. This session is conducted by video call and ensures your responses accurately reflect your situation.
Details about booking are provided after purchase.
Q30I made a mistake filling out the form. Can I redo it?
If you identify a material error in your responses — meaning an objectively verifiable factual error (for example, an incorrect income figure or a misconfigured constraint), not a change of mind or dissatisfaction with the results — reach out at contact@luckynomads.io within 48 hours of submitting the questionnaire.
Redo requests are subject to Lucky Nomads' sole discretion, are limited to one redo per original purchase, and are invoiced at 50% of the original diagnostic price. Payment is required before access to the new questionnaire is granted. Requests submitted after the 48-hour window will not be accommodated.
Q31What if my situation changes before or after I complete the questionnaire?
If your situation changes before submitting the questionnaire, update your responses on the form - your latest saved draft is what gets submitted when you finish. Note that the questionnaire must be completed within 180 days of purchase - after which it will no longer be accessible. This window exists because the GeoCompass engine evolves continuously: we regularly expand our dataset, refine our scoring logic, and improve the depth of analysis.
If your situation changes significantly after receiving your report, you can purchase a new diagnostic to generate an updated ranking based on your new profile.
3. About the report
▾
Q32In what format is the report delivered, and how many pages?
Your Strategic Location Decision Report is delivered as a structured PDF document sent to the email address provided within the diagnostic questionnaire - not the email used at checkout. This is intentional: it allows you to purchase a diagnostic on behalf of someone else. The buyer receives the questionnaire link via the email entered at checkout (Stripe), and can forward it to any third party - who then completes the form and receives the report directly on the email of their choice. It includes:
- Executive summary: your top 3 jurisdictions with high-level rationale
- Full jurisdiction ranking: all eligible countries, ranked by composite score
- Dimension-by-dimension scoring breakdown for your top jurisdictions, across 13 scoring dimensions (grouped into: Visa fit & mobility, Healthcare & infrastructure, Lifestyle & financial viability)
- Deal-breaker log: which jurisdictions were eliminated and why
- Trade-off matrix: structured comparison of your top options
- Financial viability analysis: estimated monthly expenses, cost-of-living differential vs. your home base, monthly balance, and cash runway for each top jurisdiction
- 5-year tax exposure analysis: estimated cumulative tax gap between your top jurisdictions and your current base, with impact level and interpretation
- Strategic commentary on your leading jurisdictions.
Reports typically run around 11 pages, though this may vary depending on your profile and the number of eligible jurisdictions - and may evolve over time as the engine develops.
Q33Does the financial analysis support my currency?
Yes. During the questionnaire, you will be asked to select your reference currency - the one in which you earn and think about your finances.
The following currencies are currently supported: EUR (Euro), USD (US Dollar), GBP (British Pound), CHF (Swiss Franc), CAD (Canadian Dollar), AUD (Australian Dollar), SGD (Singapore Dollar), AED (UAE Dirham), THB (Thai Baht), MXN (Mexican Peso), BRL (Brazilian Real), JPY (Japanese Yen).
If your currency is not on this list, adding it requires configuration on our end. Reach out at contact@luckynomads.io before purchasing and we will get it set up for you.
Q34Does the report include specific visa information - digital nomad visas, golden visas, residency pathways?
Not yet. The current version of GeoCompass does not include a breakdown of specific visa programmes by jurisdiction - such as digital nomad visas, investor residency schemes, or golden visa pathways. The engine evaluates jurisdictions on an Entry ease dimension, which reflects general entry and stay conditions, but does not list or compare individual visa products.
This level of visa-specific detail is planned for a future version of the engine. In the meantime, we recommend researching the visa options of your top-ranked jurisdictions independently, using official government sources and, where relevant, qualified immigration advisors.
Q35Is there a sample report available before purchase?
Yes. A redacted sample is available on the site so you can see the structure, depth, and format of a real GeoCompass Strategic Location Decision Report before committing. Note that it is a partial preview - the full personalized report typically runs around 11 pages, and may be slightly shorter or longer depending on your profile.
You can view it here: Sample Report.
Q36In what language is the report?
The report is delivered in English. Lucky Nomads operates in English as its primary language across all written deliverables.
Support and strategic sessions can be conducted in both English and French.
Q37Can I share my report with my accountant, lawyer, or partner?
Yes, absolutely - and we encourage it. The report is delivered as a PDF, and you are free to share it with whoever is involved in your decision: a tax advisor, an immigration lawyer, a financial planner, or a partner.
Q38How should I use my Top 3 results?
The jurisdictions in your Top 3 are structurally compatible with your profile. They have cleared your hard constraints, scored highest across your weighted dimensions, and represent the most rational options given your declared situation. If you are looking for a fixed base, choosing any of them would not be a wrong decision.
But the Top 3 - and more broadly, your full ranked list - can be used in other ways too. Some clients use their top results to design a multi-base strategy, rotating between two or three jurisdictions across the year. Others use the broader ranking to identify secondary destinations for extended travel or exploration. No single place in the world scores perfectly across every dimension, and we believe that exploring is, in itself, part of the answer. The world is wide, and your list is a map.
That said, scores are not always sharply differentiated. When the point gap between two jurisdictions is narrow, the engine cannot definitively say that one is categorically better than the other - the difference may lie within the margin of normal variation. At that level of closeness, a degree of intuition, personal preference, and direct experience becomes relevant.
We generally recommend spending at least 6 weeks on the ground in a jurisdiction before committing to it. A report can tell you that a place is structurally rational for your situation - it cannot tell you whether you will enjoy living there, whether the culture resonates, or whether the day-to-day reality matches the data. That layer of validation requires presence.
All of this - interpreting your scores, arbitrating between close options, and building a concrete action plan - is precisely what the Strategic Session is designed for. It is a 75-minute focused call with the Lucky Nomads founder, available after receiving your report, at €290.
Q39Does the report have an expiry date?
There is no hard expiry date on a delivered report. Once you have received it, it is yours to keep and reference as long as you find it useful.
That said, a report reflects a snapshot in time - both your profile at the moment of submission and the jurisdiction data available at the time of generation. If your situation changes significantly, or if a meaningful period of time has passed (typically 12 months or more), the rankings may no longer fully reflect current conditions. In that case, purchasing a new diagnostic on your updated profile is the most reliable approach.
Q40Will my results be accurate?
The report is as accurate as the inputs you provide and the quality of our jurisdiction data. GeoCompass does not guarantee specific outcomes - it provides a structured analytical framework based on your inputs and curated jurisdiction data maintained on a rolling basis.
The more precisely you answer the questionnaire, the more accurately the engine reflects your real situation. We recommend treating your report as a rigorous starting framework - not a definitive answer - and combining it with professional advice for implementation decisions.
Q41How long after submitting the questionnaire will I receive my report?
Your report is delivered instantly after questionnaire submission (typically under 1 minute). In rare cases, delivery may take longer due to processing or system constraints. In exceptional circumstances, delivery may take up to 24 hours.
If you have not received your report within 24 hours of submitting the questionnaire, reach out at contact@luckynomads.io and we will look into it immediately.
4. About services & support
▾
Q42Will you try to sell me a specific destination?
No. GeoCompass is analytically agnostic. The engine produces rankings based on your inputs - not on partnerships, affiliate arrangements, or destination preferences. No jurisdiction pays to appear in our rankings.
A few days after receiving your report, you may receive an optional follow-up offer: a Strategic Session (75 min, €290) to help you interpret your results and define concrete next steps. This session is entirely optional.
Q43How do I book the Strategic Session? When can I access it?
In the days following the delivery of your report, you will receive an email containing a booking link for the Strategic Session. The session is entirely optional - the email is simply an invitation, not an obligation.
From that link, you can choose a time slot that suits you. A minimum notice of 2 days is required to book a session.
If you did not receive the booking link or wish to enquire about availability, reach out at contact@luckynomads.io.
Q44Can I talk to someone? What does the Strategic Session include?
Yes. After receiving your report, you can book a Strategic Session - a 75-minute video call with the GeoCompass founder, conducted in English or French.
This session is designed to turn your Strategic Location Decision Report into a concrete action plan. It is not a general discussion - it is a focused, analytical, decision-oriented session. During the call, we will:
- Identify which of your top 3 jurisdictions is structurally dominant for your profile
- Stress-test your decision over a 12-24 month horizon
- Examine fiscal, administrative, and relocation risks specific to your situation
- Define a clear and realistic execution roadmap
You should consider booking this session if you want to move forward with confidence, need help arbitrating between strong options, or want to reduce uncertainty before committing to a direction.
Price: €290. Available after purchasing and receiving your diagnostic report.
For technical support or questions about your order, reach out at contact@luckynomads.io.
Q45I did not receive the questionnaire link or my report by email. What should I do?
Start by checking your spam or junk folder - automated emails from platforms like ours are occasionally filtered by email clients. Also check any promotions or updates tabs if you use Gmail.
If you entered your email address manually, verify that there are no typos. The questionnaire link is sent to the email provided at checkout (Stripe); the report is sent to the email provided inside the questionnaire itself.
If you still cannot locate the email after checking these, reach out at contact@luckynomads.io with your name and the email address used at purchase - we will locate your order and resend the relevant email promptly.
Q46We are a group - can we purchase multiple diagnostics together at a reduced rate?
Yes. Group pricing is available for organisations, teams, or communities purchasing multiple diagnostics. Reach out at contact@luckynomads.io with the number of diagnostics you are considering and a brief description of your context - we will come back to you with a tailored proposal.
Q47I want to run multiple scenarios with different profiles. How can I do that?
Each diagnostic is calibrated to a single profile submission. If you want to explore multiple scenarios - different income situations, different priorities, different constraints - each scenario requires a separate diagnostic.
Reach out at contact@luckynomads.io to discuss pricing for multiple scenarios.
Q48We are a couple. Can we complete the diagnostic together?
The diagnostic is designed for individual profiles - the engine calibrates to one person's financial situation, constraints, and priorities.
For couples, we recommend purchasing two separate diagnostics - one per person - to capture each individual profile accurately. You can then book a Strategic Session to reconcile your results and identify the optimal shared decision.
Q49Can I offer this report as a gift to someone else?
Yes. After purchase, you receive a unique questionnaire link by email. Simply forward this link to the intended recipient - they will complete the questionnaire with their own information and receive the report directly in their inbox.
Q50When I discover my top-ranked country, can you help me move there?
GeoCompass delivers the decision framework - not the implementation. After receiving your report, you may book an optional Strategic Session (75 min, €290) to discuss your results and define next steps.
For on-the-ground implementation - visa applications, company formation, banking setup, tax filings - we recommend qualified local advisors in your jurisdiction of interest.
Q51Do you speak languages other than English?
Lucky Nomads operates in English. Strategic sessions and support can also be conducted in French. The diagnostic report is delivered in English only.
5. About data & privacy
▾
Q52Is my report confidential?
Yes. Your report is generated from personal financial and strategic information and is treated as strictly confidential. It is delivered solely to the email address provided in your questionnaire and is never shared with third parties.
Lucky Nomads does not sell, rent, or disclose your personal data.
Anonymous and aggregated insights derived from submitted questionnaires may be used internally to improve the GeoCompass analytical model and the quality of the service over time. These analyses never identify individual users.
Your personal report and individual results remain private.
Q53Are my data safe?
Yes. Your questionnaire responses are used solely to generate your diagnostic report. We do not sell, share, or use your personal data for any commercial purpose beyond producing your report.
Lucky Nomads operates under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) - the European Union's data protection framework, widely regarded as the most protective legal standard for personal data in the world. The GDPR grants you extensive individual rights: the right to access your data, to correct it, to request its deletion (right to be forgotten), to data portability, and to object to its processing. These protections apply regardless of where you are located - the GDPR's extraterritorial scope means that any company targeting EU residents must comply, and Lucky Nomads is fully subject to this framework.
In practical terms: we collect only what is necessary to produce your report, we do not share your data with third parties for commercial purposes, and you can request access to or deletion of your data at any time.

Q54Do you speak languages other than English?
Lucky Nomads operates in English. Strategic sessions and support can also be conducted in French. The diagnostic report is delivered in English only.
Q55Does Lucky Nomads track visitors or use cookies on its website?
No - and this is something we take seriously.
luckynomads.io does not use any advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or analytical cookies. No cookie consent banner appears on this website because none is needed: the only cookies present are strictly necessary technical cookies placed by Stripe (for payment processing) and Vercel (for infrastructure). Website traffic is measured through a minimal internal analytics system we built ourselves. It is entirely cookieless, stores no personal data, and uses no third-party tracking scripts. The only information collected is anonymous - aggregated page view counts and approximate geographic origin at the country level, derived from a non-reversible daily hash that cannot be traced back to any individual. No IP addresses are stored. No browsing history is retained. No user profile is ever built.
If you prefer not to be counted even in these anonymous statistics, you can opt out completely at luckynomads.io/analytics/exclude-me. A single click sets a browser preference that permanently disables all tracking for your device. You can reverse it at any time.
We made a deliberate choice not to install Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any equivalent third-party tool. These services collect far more than aggregate counts - they build individual profiles, track users across websites, and feed advertising ecosystems. That is not compatible with how we think about the relationship between a service and its visitors.
Privacy is not a compliance checkbox for us. It is a design decision.

6. About payment & refunds

Q56Can I repurchase the diagnostic at a later date?
Yes, absolutely. Each diagnostic purchase is independent. If your situation has changed - new income structure, different priorities, a significant life transition - you can purchase a new diagnostic at any time and receive a fully updated report calibrated to your new profile.
We generally recommend running a new diagnostic every 12 to 24 months - either to validate an earlier decision or to reassess your options in light of new circumstances.
Q57Why €690? How is this price justified?
The price reflects the value of the decision GeoCompass helps you make - not the cost of producing a PDF.
Geographic decisions carry substantial long-term financial consequences. A well-structured relocation can generate tens of thousands of euros in tax savings, cost-of-living gains, or operational efficiency over a five-year horizon. Against that backdrop, €690 represents a fraction of a percent of the economic value at stake - typically between 1% and 5% of a single year's financial impact, for most profiles.
For comparison: a single hour with a qualified tax advisor or wealth manager in Western Europe costs between €300 and €700. GeoCompass delivers a multi-dimensional, fully personalised analysis across 232 jurisdictions - the equivalent of weeks or months of structured research - for the price of two advisory hours.
We do not position GeoCompass as an affordable product. We position it as a product whose price is rational relative to what it delivers. If the financial stakes of your geographic decision are significant, €690 is not a cost - it is the cheapest part of the process.
Q58What payment methods do you accept?
All payments are processed exclusively through Stripe - a leading global payment infrastructure used by millions of businesses worldwide. No wire transfers, no instalment plans, and no cryptocurrency payments are accepted.
The following payment methods are available at checkout: credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), Apple Pay, Bancontact, and Link. Note that Stripe displays payment options dynamically - the methods shown at checkout may vary depending on your country and device.
All prices are set and charged in euros (EUR). We do not accept payment in other currencies. If your card is issued in a different currency, the conversion is handled entirely by your bank or card issuer at their applicable exchange rate - Lucky Nomads has no involvement in that process.
Q59Can I get a refund if I purchased but have not yet submitted my questionnaire?
If you purchased a diagnostic but have not yet submitted your questionnaire, you may reach out at contact@luckynomads.io to request a cancellation within 48 hours of purchase and before submitting the questionnaire. If you request cancellation within this window, you may choose between a full refund (net of Stripe payment processing fees) or a 100% service credit valid for 90 days from your original purchase date. See our Terms of Service for full details.
After your report is delivered, our Clarity Guarantee may still apply: if the report does not give you a clear, actionable direction, you can request a full refund by submitting the structured feedback form within 7 days of delivery, subject to the eligibility rules in our Terms of Service — in particular, that the Questionnaire was submitted within 30 days of purchase and that the report has not been used as the basis for a concrete relocation decision, such as booking travel, initiating a visa application, engaging a tax advisor to implement a relocation, or changing tax residence.

Q61Where is Lucky Nomads based?
Lucky Nomads is registered in France. Its founder is, by nature of the project, frequently in motion across different jurisdictions.
Q62Are you open to partnerships or distribution arrangements?
Yes. We are open to thoughtful partnership proposals - whether from advisors, wealth managers, relocation firms, legal or tax professionals, or any operator whose clients could benefit from structured geographic decision-making.
If you represent an organisation interested in integrating or distributing GeoCompass, or in building a collaboration around it, reach out at contact@luckynomads.io with a brief description of your context and proposal. We read every message carefully.
Q63Are you hiring or accepting internship applications?
No. Lucky Nomads is not currently hiring and does not accept internship applications. We are a lean, focused operation - and we intend to keep it that way.
Q64Can I suggest a feature or share an idea?
Yes. We are genuinely open to feature suggestions and ideas from users - whether it is about new dimensions to score, additional jurisdictions to include, report improvements, or anything else that would make GeoCompass more useful for your situation. Reach out at contact@luckynomads.io with your idea. We read every message.
Q65What exactly does GeoCompass sell?
GeoCompass sells structured decisional clarity - not a destination.
The product is a personalized Strategic Location Decision Report: a ranked, scored, and annotated framework that helps you understand which jurisdictions are actually rational for your specific situation - and why.
We do not sell relocation services, visa assistance, or implementation support. We sell the analytical foundation for a better geographic decision.
