Resident companies are taxed on worldwide income with credit relief for foreign taxes paid on foreign business income, capped at the Rwandan tax that would have applied to the same income. Foreign tax credit available on foreign business income.
Personal income tax basis. Worldwide. Resident individuals are generally taxable on their worldwide income, subject to relief under applicable tax treaties.
Residents taxed on worldwide income above the 183-day threshold or 122-day average over two preceding tax periods. KIFC professionals who were non-resident for the five preceding tax years benefit from a five-year exemption on foreign-sourced income while employed by a KIFC-licensed entity (Investment Code 2021). No general non-dom or new-resident regime outside this KIFC perimeter.
Progressive PIT with top marginal rate of 30 percent applying above of monthly taxable income (approximately USD 145 per month, so the headline rate captures essentially any meaningful expatriate salary). Bracket structure is 0 percent to , 10 percent to , 20 percent to , and 30 percent above. Rental income taxed on a separate annual schedule of 0, 20 and 30 percent.
